About Petit Oiseau

The collaborative work of Jatinder Singh Durhailay & Suren Seneviratne.

After their 2012 inaugural performance at Tate Modern The Tanks with NTS Radio, the duo Jatinder Singh Durhailay and Suren Seneviratne a.k.a My Panda Shall Fly returned to its fruitful collaboration in 2019 with a new experimental sonic musical endeavour titled Petit Oiseau. 

The pair has since performed in venues including V&A Museum, MK Gallery, The Design Museum London, Rich Mix, Church of Sound and Camden Art Centre.

Petit Oiseau brings together rare classical Indian string instruments played by Durhailay, known as the Dilruba and the Taus, together with Seneviratne’s interests in alternate tunings and numerology through custom patches built on an E- MU Command Station digital synthesiser.

Their debut album, including a publication edited by Johanna Tagada Hoffbeck and accompanying CD, was released by Poetic Pastel Press in autumn 2019.
